The country is stunning for horseback riding and hiking, and the animals (horses, cows, and especially the dogs) are delightful. The asado was among the best (and certainly biggest) meals we had during a 2-week trip all over Argentina, with a huge selection of wines to match. After a Fernet and cola (or 3) by the fire in the evening among all the nature and great company, you'll be ready to take a nap on the ride home after one of the best experiences Mendoza has to offer (although we wish we spent the night!) Christine C28/11/2023Verificada Spectacular setting, out-of-this-world hospitality What a glorious and special place! We took a break in our 2 weeks of wine touring in Mendoza to stay at Vivacs del Plata with the Palma family and it was the highlight and favorite part of our trip. We stayed in the beautiful and well-appointed guest house on the property (5-star accommodations, exquisite linens, furnishings). Three incredible gourmet meals per day plus snacks, excellent wines, and an authentic Argentine asado were provided in between horseback riding, walking, hiking, snoozing, playing with the animals, and “helping” with the cattle. The hospitality provided was so warm and gracious, we fell in love with the whole family. The stay was such a unique experience at the foot of the jaw-dropping Andes, we would love to return! (Requests for newborn puppies can sometimes be accommodated). Gimena G29/10/2023Verificada I am so happy to have had the opportunity to explore this place. I did not know that one could fall in love with a place. This place healed the parts of me that need to be grounded. It was the trip and location of a lifetime. Para volver siempre Bob B20/01/2023Verificada A Dream Come true Our day in Vivacs del Plata in early January has got to be one of the best experiences that my wife and I have ever been on. The entire family showed us such lovely hospitality and friendship to the extent that we have remained in contact and will return to see them as soon as we can! We were collected from our hotel in Mendoza by Juan and then had an incredibly scenic drive up through through the Andes to the Estate at circa 2000m - wow what views we had! On arrival at the Estate we were warmly welcomed by Fabian, Carolina and daughter Camilla (I Hope i spelt that correctly?) and had a lovely meal outside looking at the vista of the high Andes. It was so lovely for them all to share the heritage of their Estate which has been in the family for over 200 years! The plan was then to ride through the estate and surrounding area before embarking upon a typical Argentinian Asado. I have to admit some nervousness about riding a horse (the last time was 50 years ago!) but achieve this i did and we spent a lovely couple of hours riding through the Andes punctuated by a stop for charcuterie and Malbec - awesome! Upon return, we settled down to a well earned beer (it was for me!) before the main event of the Asado. All i can say that this was the most superb barbecue I have ever tasted and with beautiful Malbec to wash it down was an absolute joy! Later we rested out in the sun having the beautiful home made deserts (thanks Camilla) before we returned to Mendoza with Juan. The next day Lynne my wife went sailing with Grandpa on the lake Embalse Potrerillos - a dam lake on the Mendoza river and had a brilliant time - many thanks Grandpa! We have just chatted about this and for us, this day compares to the day we first saw theTaj Mahal! To the family, all we can say is that we have made some life long friends and we shall be back and very soon! So much love and thanks from Lynne and Bob. PS - we also fell in love with Lynnie Fernanda M10/01/2023Verificada Fun Tupungato adventure! We wanted a escape from wine country and a chance to see the spectacular Andes mountains and experience an authentic Mendocino barbecue. We could not have been happier to have been hosted by the Palma family at Vivacs Del Plata! Our day started early with a pickup from our hotel so we could enjoy the fantastic views. We arrived at the farm to a delicious breakfast. We were unprepared urban folk, but that was not an issue at all. They had all the right gear and made us feel super welcomed. We than headed out to a fantastic horse ride to the top of their mountain. When we least expected we stopped for a delightful picnic on a table top like rock! After coming down from the mountain a fabulous barbecue waited for us! I learned of a new favorite cut of beef called Palomita. The hard part will be trying to find it back in the US! We come in for an authentic experience, and we left with that and so much more. We would love to come back again some day! Highly recommended.Carga más
